For the first time in years, I decided to purchase a new Call of Duty game. After the recent generation of futuristic shoot-em ups, I was looking forward to seeing the game go back to its roots.
Unfortunately for me, I’ve spent most of my time waiting at the Call of Duty WW2 loading screen, which seems to be never-ending. At points, while the loading screen was present, I could even hear some sort of ticking sound – a sound similar to the one that is played when the countdown to the game has began. I restarted the game using PS4’s “restart application” option and the issue remained the same. I restarted the console itself and that didn’t seem to have any effect either.
I’ve also come across several error codes because the game is unable to connect to the server or something.
If I was to take a guess, I’d say that there is something wrong with Call of Duty’s servers and that the game is hanging because it isn’t built to handle these connection issues properly.
