How to set the cruise control on a Vauxhall / Opel Insignia.

I recently purchased a Vauxhall / Opel Insignia and one of the few things that puzzled me was how to use the cruise control setting. Hopefully, this short guide will help those of you that are as puzzled as I once was.

On the left hand of your steering wheel, you will see the following button:

Opel Insignia Cruise Control

The white arrow is pointing towards the Cruise Control button. This is a photograph of the inside of a Vauxhall Insignia.

Here’s a closer look at the button:

Insignia Cruise Control Icon

The icon looks like a speedometer with an arrow pointing towards it.

To start using cruise control, you will need to turn it on by pressing the top of the button above (it basically works like a regular light switch).

Once you’ve turned this “switch” on, a white Cruise Control icon will appear on the rev meter above your steering wheel (the same rev meter that tells you whether the parking brake is engaged or not):

If the icon is white, it means that Cruise Control is turned on – but no speed has been set.

As soon as you are ready to set the speed, simply press down on the SET /- button that was shown in the second image above.
