Recently, my Facebook notification feed started to get filled up with notifications from several of the Facebook pages that I manage. I manage about six or seven pages, so when Facebook started notifying me about every view, like and comment, it became incredibly annoying. If you’re like me, then you’re probably of the opinion that your personal notification feed should remain personal. i.e. Strictly for notifications relating to personal posts and friends, etc.
After I checked the settings of one of my pages, I discovered that the notifications had been set to “Get a notification each time there is activity on your Page or an important Page update.” I didn’t change this myself, so I’m guessing that it’s either a bug or Facebook are trying to get page owners more active on some of the old pages that they may have forgotten about.
This setting is available in the following tab:
To “fix” the issue, I had to visit the pages I manage and turn the “On Facebook” setting to “Off”. However, if you want to keep some settings on, then you have the following to choose from:
- New Mention of Page
- New Comments on Page post
- Edits to Comments you have written
- New Subscribers to events
- New Followers of Page
- New Likes on Page post
- New Likes
- Edits to Posts you have written
Each of the settings above has a “Turn Off” option, which allows you to narrow down on the type of notifications that you’re happy with.
